Other Information and Conditions of Travel

  • Passengers must be clearly visible to the driver at all pickup points no later than the specified reporting time or they may miss the bus and no refund will be given.
  • Although our service is NOT door to door, it may be possible to arrange pick-ups and drop-offs on OUR ROUTE other than the scheduled ones at the passenger’s own risk and with prior notification. This will also depend on our very tight schedules.
  • Changes to schedules may be necessary to cater for operational situations, road conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
  • Substitute vehicles may be used by Knightrider to transport passengers and / or their luggage.
  • Knightrider will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from any abandonment of or delay during any journey.
  • Knightrider is a non-smoking service and consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden on any Knightrider vehicle.
  • All checked baggage must be clearly labelled with a NZ address, phone number and email address.
  • Knightrider makes no provision for special supervision of unaccompanied minors.
  • Limited room available for Bikes / Skis / Boards / Unaccompanied Baggage at extra cost and only with prior arrangement.
  • Luggage allowance is 1 x backpack or suitcase 25kg max. plus personal carry-on items. Excess baggage is chargeable at $5 minimum per item and will be carried ONLY if there is room.
  • The following items are deemed unsuitable to be stowed in luggage trailers or lockers and should be included as part of your carry on luggage -
    • Passports and travel documents
    • Cameras, video cameras etc
    • Computers or electronic devices
    • Business documents or important documents
    • Fragile, delicate or perishable goods
    • Valuable items, such as money, jewellery or similar
    Knightrider will not be liable for any inconvenience costs, expenses, delay, loss or damage you suffer as a consequence of the items being damaged, delayed or lost.
  • All fares are shown in New Zealand Dollars (NZD), are inclusive of GST and are subject to change without notice.
  • Cancellations must be made as soon as possible. Cancellations made prior to day of travel will be refunded the fare less 10%.
  • Cancellations made on the day of travel and all no-shows will not be entitled to any refund.
  • Knightrider has the right to refuse carriage if the driver feels that your behaviour will harm yourself, others or themselves. No intoxicated passengers or passengers under the influence of a substance that has impaired their judgement will be carried. You may be refused carriage if you try to bring on board alcohol or any illegal substance or dangerous weapons.
  • If a Knightrider driver feels that your conduct on board the bus is endangering yourself or others around you, the driver has the right to stop at the next safe stop and require you to disembark the service
  • Knightrider recommends that all travellers should have adequate travel insurance.
  • Animals are not permitted on any Knightrider bus with the exception of guide dogs.
